Debt settlement companies will now be required to tell you how much debt will be reduced by showing you agreements from your creditors. Then if you agree to move forward in the process they will be allowed to charge you a fee.
The rule was setup under the Telemarketing Sales Rule by the FTC, therefore the new rule only applies to companies selling service by phone.
With that said, companies will most likely setup appointments over the phone and then meet with you face to face to do their presentation so they can still collect a fee.

Mortgage Rate History Through September 2010
Mortgage rates have taken a huge dive as shown below. There is no doubt that now is a good time for buyers to jump with these low rates and plenty of inventory to choose from. One thing we do know is that mortgage rates are low right NOW! There is no telling what will come in the future with the elections just around the corner on Nov. 2nd. With a possible shift in Congress there is no telling what will happen next year with the housing industry or mortgage rates. So get it while it's hot folks.

TX / OU WEEKEND 2010
TX / OU weekend is once again upon on us. The University of Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners head to Dallas, TX to battle it out at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday October 2nd in the Battle Of The Red River.
The city of Dallas welcomes the visitors who will attend this yearly event. This annual event brings in thousands of tourism dollars to the city. In addition to the game we also have the State Fair of Texas going on as well. The traffic will be tested once again this year as people decide whether or not to ride the DART rail after last years fiasco. Has the public transportation been worked out? Will we see another debacle as we did in 2009? We shall see.
But no matter the outcome of the game make sure to stop by the State Fair and pick you up a turkey leg and funnel cake and head on over to the Midway to enjoy some fun rides.

What will it take to get buyers out and shopping for homes? If these low interest rates don't do it I don't know what will. What are your thoughts?
